New York, NY, USA – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazineIn the world of art, originals are superlatively precious, but the reproductions in Jason Oliva’s [Works on Paper] show challenges the definition of the cherished authentic. For the exhibit, Oliva trades in the typical printers for the same paints used in the canvas masterpieces—and repaints each paper artwork by hand. This means that not only are the reproductions as vibrant as the original, they’re also a real-life manifestation of the same creative energy that engendered the paintings. And just like the real thing, the paper editions are dressed with the ever-valuable artist’s signature. The artist likens his reproductions to traditional limited edition prints, but with more individuality and personal character. They then become as precious as the originals, in the sense that they are also one-of-a-kind. “Because each of these works are hand-painted, not one work is the same,” Oliva said. These prints will be showcased at Downtown John Allans in New York City, alongside a selection of the Jason Oliva [Jewelry] and Jason Oliva [Sculpture] collections. To celebrate the show, the artist will be hosting a party at the club on March 28 at 7:30pm.Click Here for more info.
