The Crusaders are now 2-3.Sophomore A.J. Snipes led the team with 25 points while Cade Phelps had 22. Other scorers for Wellington were: Connor Phelps 14, Wesley Gilmore 10, Ian King 9, Will Long 4, Jack Walton 2, Chaese Hamel 2, Joe Ybarra 2, and Connor Burnett 2.Wellington was an outstanding 28-30 at the free throw line, and was a stunning 24 of 24 at the charity stripe in the fourth quarter.The Crusaders led 23-18 at the end of the first quarter and led 40-30 at the half. Wellington outscored Mulvane 20-14 in the third quarter. That set up the excruciating fourth quarter where Mulvane would intentionally foul and the Crusaders sank free throw after free throw for a 25-point win.In the girls game, Wellington defeated Mulvane 67-32 to finish December 5-0. Crusader head girls basketball coach Eric Adams also became a social media sensation with locker room dance after game (see our twitter page here).Wellington led 22-8 at the end of the first quarter and was in front 38-16 at the half. In the third quarter, the Crusaders outscored Mulvane 22-6 and played reserves the rest of the way for a big win.The Crusaders were led by Grace Mitchell with 25. Avery Rusk and Lauryn Snipes both had 9. Other scorers included Shayland French 8, Gracie Fink 2, Mekenna Adams 2, Tayland French 8, Taylor Zimmerman 2 and Mariah Moore 1.Wellington was 25 of 46 in the field.
