Sharing is caring! 26 Views no discussions Share Share Tweet LocalNews Dave Bruney’s appointment challenged by cabinet ministers. by: – April 8, 2011 Share Photo credit: GIS NewsMembers of the Cabinet of the Commonwealth of Dominica have commenced a legal challenge to the appointment and swearing in of Mr. Dave Bruney as member of the Integrity in Public Office.In their letter dated 8th April, 2011 through their attorneys, the appointment has been categorized as a “blatant, grave and serious threat to the purpopse, integrity and impartiality of the commission.”In giving reasons for the challenge, Attorney Alick Lawrence on behalf of the Cabinet of Ministers indicated; “Mr. Bruney does not and cannot meet the statutory criteria and requirements of section 4 (3) of the Integrity in Public Office Act 6 of 2003. Simply put he is not a person of high public standing”Secondly Mr. Bruney’s appointment “concerns section 5 (d) of the Integrity in Public Office Act 6 of 2003. As recently as April, 2011 Mr. Bruney and the United Workers Party represented to the world that Mr. Bruney was the Media Coordinator of the United Workers Party.”The attorney for the Cabinet of Ministers threatened that they “will seek injunctive relief to prevent Mr. Dave Bruney from acting as a Member or having access to confidential records, information or documents.”Click here to read the documents issued: Letter to the President re. Canaan, IN—INDOT maintenance crews will complete deep patching operations on S.R. 62 next week between C.R. 325 E. and Flatbottom Road in eastern Jefferson County, west of Canaan.The road will close daily at this location from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Monday, October 7, through Friday, October 11, weather permitting.S.R. 62 will be open to local traffic only. Access to homes within the closure will be maintained.The official detour route for all thru traffic is U.S. 421 to S.R. 129.
