Asus ZenFone 6 leaks with unique Flip Camera, Snapdragon 855 chipset and massive 5000mAh battery The ZenFone 6 leaks show a unique Flip Camera arrangement that allows the rear cameras to be also used for selfies. The phone could pack monstrous specifications, including Snapdragon 855 SoC and 5000mAh battery.advertisement Amritanshu Mukherjee New DelhiMay 15, 2019UPDATED: May 17, 2019 08:48 IST HIGHLIGHTSAsus ZenFone 6 will get a Snpadragon 855 chipset and up to 12GB RAM.Instead of pop-up camera, ZenFone 6 will use a unique Flip Dual Camera module. The ZenFone 6 will be powered by a 5000mAh battery.Last week, Asus teased its upcoming flagship smartphone for its global markets – the ZenFone 6. With limited leaks on the web and only a few official teasers (one of them confirming the headphone jack), it was seeming that the ZenFone 6 could be one of the few smartphones to launch after a while without any major leak. Turns out that this notion is negated as the entire specification list of the ZenFone 6 has been leaked along with official renders. And as always, Asus has surprised massively with a unique feature. The ZenFone 6 leak comes from a Chinese website called Sogi and reveals everything that we would have otherwise known only on May 16 at Asus’ global launch event. Similar to what the official teasers suggested, the ZenFone 6 gets a fullscreen display with slim bezels all around and a slightly thicker chin. Apart from the volume rockers and the power button, there’s a third button that seems to be what Asus teased as the Action Key – probably for initiating the camera or Google Assistant. The rear is where it gets interesting. Quite unusually, there’s a dual camera setup sitting on a weird Flip module. As the renders suggest, the rear camera flips and probably acts as the front camera. This implementation is quite similar to the camera arrangement on Samsung Galaxy A80 unveiled a few weeks ago. However, instead of the module sliding upward, the camera will flip open and turn around to act as the selfie camera. It’s still a mystery as to how the flip camera opens – is it motorised or controlled via a motor?advertisement Asus ZenFone 6 leaked rendersThe leak also gives out a specification sheet that seems believable for an Asus smartphone. As with all 2019 flagships, the ZenFone 6 is shown sporting a Snapdragon 855 chipset with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Weirdly, for a 2019 flagship, the phone is supposed to come with Android 8.1possibly with Asus’ ZenUI skin on top. Similar to its budget smartphones, Asus will shove a giant 5000mAh battery inside. The Flip module will hold a 48-megapixel primary camera along with a 12-megapxiel secondary camera.Lastly, the display with no notch will measure 6.3-inches. While the leak doesn’t mention what panel it will use, we assume that it could be an LCD panel given the thicker chin. The speculation for an LCD is also promoted by the fact there’s a fingerprint sensor at the back.At this point, it’s hard to believe this leak considering the previous leaks have talked about a sliding display. However, since the leak is also verified by Roland Quandt – a tipster who has a very good track record with smartphone leaks, the ZenFone 6 could end up very much like this. The unique camera arrangement could push the ZenFone 6 as a rival to the recently launched OnePlus 7 Pro.Asus will launch the ZenFone 6 on May 16 in Valencia and India is also supposed to get the phone very soon.ALSO READ | Asus ZenFone 6 specifications leak: Could be OnePlus 7 Pro rival with Snapdragon 855, headphone jackALSO READ | Asus ZenFone 6 spotted on AnTuTu with Snapdragon 855, scores slightly higher than Galaxy S10ALSO READ | Asus ZenFone 6 leak suggests it will be a conventional Android flagship with Snapdragon 855Get real-time alerts and all the news on your phone with the all-new India Today app. Download from Post your comment Do You Like This Story?
