The Dutchman led United to FA Cup glory on Saturday but that was not enough to save his job after the club failed to qualify for the Champions League.Van Gaal came under heavy criticism with United finishing fifth in the Premier League season and failing to find a Champions League berth. The former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is almost certain to replace van Gaal in next couple of days.Van Gaal took charge of United in 2014, following the departure of David Moyes midway through the 2013/14 season. In his first season as manager, he got the club back into the Champions League.This season United’s form dipped in the Premier League but managed to end on a high by clinching the FA Cup beating Crystal Palace.last_img
