Similar to previous Rugby World Cup host unions, objective analysis will include legacy of the tournament and positive impact for the game of rugby in the United States.” The United States at RWC 2019 (Getty Images) They hope to host an event in 2027, 2029 and/or 2031 Plans Stateside will now ramp up ahead of the January 2022 proposal deadline with World Rugby. On the agenda will be schemes financial planning, event objectives, competitions, stadiums and host cities, player welfare, rugby development, legacy and more. Tata Power unit wins bid to build 225MW hybrid wind-solar project in India

first_img FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailPrint分享Mercom India:Tata Power announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Tata Power Green Energy Limited (TPGEL), received a letter of award (LoA) to develop a 225 MW hybrid renewable power project. The LoA was awarded from its Mumbai-based distribution company (DISCOM) – TataPower Mumbai Distribution. The project will be used to supply power to the DISCOM under a power purchase agreement (PPA) for 25 years.According to the press statement, Tata Power’s renewable energy generating capacity will increase to 3,782 MW after the addition of this project. Of this, 2,637 MW capacity is currently operational, and the remaining 1,145 MW is under implementation, including 225 MW secured under this LoA.Last month, Tata Power had issued a request for selection (RfS) to produce power on a long-term basis for a 225 MW hybrid renewable power project. The minimum project size of a single hybrid power project was 25 MW of wind with at least 5 MW at one site for an intra-state project. The capacity for inter-state projects will be 50 MW at one location to be interconnected at a single delivery point.According to the tender document, the rated installed project capacity of either of the two components should be more than 25% of the other. Further, the wind component should be capped at a maximum of 50% of the project capacity. The project is required to be commissioned within 18 months from the date of execution of the PPA, the company added. Tata Power also said that the project is expected to generate 700 million units (MU) of energy every year, offsetting about 700 million kilograms of carbon dioxide emission into the atmosphere.More: Tata Power Green receives letter of award for a 225 MW solar-wind hybrid project Tata Power unit wins bid to build 225MW hybrid wind-solar project in Indialast_img read more

Pickett, Panthers eager to get season started vs Albany

first_imgIn this Aug. 9, 2018, file photo, Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett (8) passes in a drill during an NCAA college football practice in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh head coach Pat Narduzzi says sophomore quarterback Kenny Pickett doesn’t have to think he’s “Kenny Perfect.” Either way, Pickett will be the focal point for Pitt when the Panthers open the 2018 season on Saturday against Albany. (AP Photo/Keith Srakocic, File) PITTSBURGH (AP) — Kenny Pickett’s first college start set almost impossible expectations for his second. Everywhere except inside the Pittsburgh locker room. While coach Pat Narduzzi understands the hype surrounding the sophomore quarterback — last seen engineering an upset of then second-ranked Miami in the 2017 regular season finale — Narduzzi also knows a reality check will come at some point. Perhaps as early as Saturday when the Panthers open against Albany.“I know everybody thinks he’s going to go out there and be ’Kenny Perfect,’” Narduzzi said. “That’d be in a perfect world. But nobody’s perfect. I don’t want to make Kenny tight like that where he’s got to play perfect. He’s still a baby.”Even if Pickett didn’t play like one while accounting for all three Pitt touchdowns in the victory over the Hurricanes. Nine months later he steps onto Heinz Field again eager to prove it was no fluke. The atmosphere will be different. So will the stakes. That’s fine by Pickett. A year ago he was running the scout team. Now he’s firmly entrenched as the starter. Will he be pumped? Yes. Will he show it? Meh.Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett (8) passes under pressure by defensive lineman James Folston Jr. (40) during their annual NCAA intrasquad college football spring Blue Gold game, Saturday, April 14, 2018, in Pittsburgh. The Blue team won 10-3. (AP Photo/Keith Srakocic)“I can’t be going nuts on the field, then I lose my mind and lose my read, what I have to do,” Pickett said. “Just stay calm, stay smooth from the first quarter to the last one.”The Panthers could use a steady hand at the wheel following a tumultuous 2017 in which they finished 5-7 and failed to reach a bowl game for the first time in a decade. A seemingly unending rotation at quarterback — from Max Browne to Ben DiNucci back to Browne back to DiNucci then ultimately to Pickett — didn’t help.Pickett’s rise could give Pitt long-term stability , though he is quick to point out he’s just one part of an offense he believes will be “explosive” under second-year coordinator Shawn Watson.“It’s our offense now this year,” Pickett said. “Last year we were 50/50. We didn’t know our identity really.”Now the Panthers believe they do. Senior running backs Darrin Hall and Qadree Ollison are eager to bounce back after an underachieving 2017 . Fullback George Aston returns after missing most of last season due to injury. The receivers are largely inexperienced but Pickett is hardly concerned.“I feel really comfortable back there,” Pickett said. “I have trust in seven to eight guys to go in there and do exactly what the guy before them did. That’s something we didn’t have last year and we do this year. … It’s been countless hours of work and preparation and we’re ready to go.”Some things to look for as Pitt attempts not to get tripped up by the Great Danes.NO QB JITTERS: Albany QB Vince Testaverde Jr., a fifth-year graduate transfer at his third school, will start his first game for the Great Danes. The son of longtime NFL quarterback and 1986 Heisman Trophy winner Vinny Testaverde is a transfer from Miami, where his dad starred. He started his college career at Texas Tech and played in one game as a non-scholarship freshman in 2014, completing 15 of 26 passes for 116 yards against Texas, then transferred after one semester.Although his dad will be at the game, Vince says it will be business as usual.“I’m just going to play my game, tell everyone else just to play theirs,” said Testaverde, who will be playing in only his second game in college. “Nothing’s different. Football is football, no matter if we play in a small stadium, big stadium, wherever we play.”ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT: Narduzzi raised some eyebrows when he told a crowd of fans at a kickoff luncheon that he would see them in Charlotte — site of the ACC title game —at the end of the season. It’s a limb Narduzzi is willing to step out on thanks to the mentality of his 19 seniors.“I think we’ve got the talent, I think we have the mindset, I think we’ve got the chemistry to win a championship,” Narduzzi said. “Is that going to happen? We’ll find out.”OLD HOME WEEKEND: Albany head coach Greg Gattuso is a Pittsburgh native. He won eight MAAC championships in 12 seasons at Duquesne (1993-2004) and also worked on the Panthers’ staff for six seasons (2005- 11). This will be Albany’s second game ever against an FBS opponent.“They had an opening (on the schedule). It worked out. It was a much better idea four years ago than it is right now,” Gattuso said, joking. “But I’m excited about it, and I think the kids are really excited about it.“Ultimately, it’s a great experience for our athletes to play … against the team that just beat the No. 2 team in the country in their last game.”Albany offensive line coach Jim Sweeney is from Pittsburgh and a Pitt grad.___AP Sports Writer John Kekis in Syracuse, New York, contributed to this report.___More AP college football: https://apnews.com/tag/Collegefootball and https://twitter.com/AP_Top25last_img read more

Stellar Wind received fractional times of 24.20 and 36.40, with a five furlong gallop out of 1:02.40.“It’s going to be a great race,” Sadler said of the Distaff, “very rare in the sense that it’s high quality with those three in it.”Richard Mandella reported Beholder doing well for the Distaff. “I didn’t let her do too much (in her four furlong work Thursday, 49 flat, breezing),” he said. “She couldn’t look better.”Songbird also worked Thursday, going five furlongs in a bullet 58.60 for Jerry Hollendorfer, who is at Keeneland this weekend.Stellar Wind will work again next Friday under regular rider Victor Espinoza. Also working Thursday was Breeders’ Cup Sprint favorite Masochistic, who drilled a half mile with regular rider Mike Smith up for Ron Ellis in a bullet 45.40, handily from the gate. Auerbach, LLC. “He’s been remarkable and even in his final season at stud in 2016 managed to get 25 of 30 bred mares in foal. It’s been an amazing run and I’m happy ‘Heat’ can now just relax and enjoy the rest of his days just being a horse.”Doug Burge, longtime President of the California Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association remarked, “He’s been the perennial leading sire in California for over a decade and his influence on California breeding and racing will be prevalent for years to come.”Bred by John T. Jones in Kentucky, Unusual Heat is the son of Nureyev and Danish champion mare Rossard. In 1991, he became the highest-priced horse ever sold at a Barretts yearling auction, fetching $250,000. In 2010, he moved to Harris Farms in Coalinga, spending his last six seasons at stud. The impact of Unusual Heat on California breeding and racing was far reaching. From a humble first crop of 15, Unusual Heat had 11 runners, and 10 of them won in their first race, starting a ride never been seen in the Golden State. To date, his runners have amassed $52.4 million in worldwide progeny earnings. first_imgCllr Marie Therese GallagherCounty councillor Marie-Therese Gallagher had slammed the Government for what she said is its continued bias against small medium and indigenous businesses in Donegal. It follows confirmation within Donegal County Council’s Budget Book that a huge reduction in rates has been made for big utility companies.Cllr Gallagher said “A reduction of €688,177 in rates has been applied to utility companies in Donegal. This decision was made by the national valuation office in Dublin. “This is a slap in the face for small medium and indigenous businesses across Donegal. It again shows the priorities of this Government – the typical looking after big business at the expense of local businesses and local services in Donegal.”“I can confidently say that not one of these companies who have received this reduction is struggling to keep the wolf from the door, in complete contrast to our local shops, pubs, hotels and manufacturers.”“My blood has been boiling since I learned of this development; it is typical of this unfair Government’s priorities.”“There is a window of opportunity at the minute to appeal this decision, I would appeal to all members of society to contact their local Government representative, to stop this measure. A countrywide campaign needs to take place, as these cuts to council services have an impact on all our communities.”  REDUCTION IN RATES A SLAP IN THE FACE FOR SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS – COUNCILLOR was last modified: November 11th, 2015 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)last_img read more

Practice Fusion Partners With Salesforce – But Is Cloud Computing Suitable For Healthcare?

first_img8 Best WordPress Hosting Solutions on the Market Is Cloud Computing Suitable for Healthcare?A post on the Practice Fusion blog today asks the question: is “cloud computing” right for health IT? We reported earlier this week that cloud computing is infiltrating virtually every corner of technology right now, but it still has dangers. We noted the recent hacking of Google Docs to steal internal Twitter documents, as one recent high profile example (high profile because the stolen documents were subsequently emailed to some news outlets, some of whom published the ‘hot’ docs). However despite these risks Practice Fusion claims that the cost benefits of cloud computing in healthcare are significant, particularly in its EMR niche:“Cost and poor usability have been cited as the biggest obstacles to adoption of health IT – especially Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems – and has resulted in problematically-low EHR adoption rates. Eliminating this cost, and the IT maintenance burdens that are often beyond the reach of small medical practices, clearly removes these significant roadblocks to EHR adoption.”Security and safety is of course the big potentially negative issue with cloud computing. But Practice Fusion points to several use cases where it says that cloud computing has advantages over desktop apps: disaster-recovery, hacks (because “SaaS providers are able to devote resources to solving security issues that many customers cannot afford”), and privacy. All of those points come down to the premise that a cloud computing / SaaS specialist, such as Practice Fusion, has more expertise, more resources, and is generally better able to deliver those safety and security requirements. That all sounds great in theory, however every case like the Twitter stolen documents one serves to undermine that argument. And there are just too many such cases right now. Nevertheless, we’re sure that over time cloud computing will become ever more secure. It’s clear that Practice Fusion is a young company that is growing well. With Salesforce.com on its side too now, the future looks secure for them. Top Reasons to Go With Managed WordPress Hosting Why Tech Companies Need Simpler Terms of Servic… richard macmanus A Web Developer’s New Best Friend is the AI Wai… Tags:#cloud computing#health#NYT#Product Reviews#web One year ago we reviewed a new health app called Practice Fusion, a free, web-based EMR (electronic medical record) system for physicians. This week Practice Fusion announced an investment, amount not disclosed, by salesforce.com. They also announced the upcoming launch of their patient health record (PHR) application on Force.com, salesforce.com’s cloud computing platform. With these announcements, now seems an appropriate time for a check-up of Practice Fusion. How is its own health and what are the implications of partnering with salesforce.com?One year after our initial review, the company is still going strong. The product was being promoted in August 2008 as a ‘Google Apps for doctors’, providing patient management, scheduling, secure email and more. However, as we pointed out in our article last year, Practice Fusion is not a competitor to Google Health. Practice Fusion is a physician-centered tool, whereas Google Health and the other bigco services are patient-centered.Practice Fusion currently has “over 18,000 users,” which would appear to be a big increase on the 1,300 medical professionals they had one year ago. The product originally launched in November of 2007, so it’s nearly two years old now. Related Posts last_img read more

Mesut Ozil’s stunning declaration wins him support on Twitter

first_imgMesut Ozil’s decision to not play for Germany comes as a rude shock for football fans all over the world especially due to the circumstances under which he has taken this call.Ozil on Sunday made a shocking revelation about him facing “racism and disrespect” because of his Turkish roots which is why he will no longer play for the national team.”In the eyes of Grindel and his supporters I am German when we win, but I am an immigrant when we lose,” Ozil wrote in a lengthy statement in English posted on his Twitter account.”It is with a heavy heart and after much consideration that because of recent events, I will no longer be playing for Germany at international level whilst I have this feeling of racism and disrespect.Mesut Ozil, upset with racist abuse, declares he will no longer play for Germany”I used to wear the German shirt with such pride and excitement, but now I don’t.
